Bio: Raised by a mother who is also an English teacher, I grew up with English as my native tongue. I received secondary education at the American School in Taichung, and subsequently pursued higher education in the United States. I completed an introductory architecture course at Cornell University, then proceeded to study architecture at Virginia Tech University. Before returning to Taiwan, I received a Bachelor of Architecture degree as well as gained several work experiences under my belt over the years. Early this year I got accepted by the University of Sydney for its Master of Architecture program, so I will be heading to Australia for my Masters degree this fall. Before then, I hope I will have the privilege to teach several bright, energetic students who are interested in learning English!
Experience: Speaking of tutoring experience, I primarily teach older students who are interested in English, and have at least a basic to intermediate level of proficiency. In the past I have taught students with ages ranging from middle to high school, as well as adults seeking to improve their English abilities in general. Regarding content, I have taught TOEFL, IELTS, GEPT, advanced English conversation, in-promptu speech preparation, and writing. I believe that my education and experience, paired with an outgoing and friendly attitude toward students, makes me an ideal candidate for being an English tutor who is able to improve a students English ability over the course of several months as well as inspire further interest in the English language!
自我介紹: 由於媽媽是位英文老師,我從小最常接觸的語言是英文,導致英文成為我的母語。我從小到大都非常喜歡閱讀、畫畫、設計、和運動,所以空閒時間大概都在做這些事。我在台中美國學校讀完國、高中之後,接著去美國讀大學。首先在康乃爾大學讀建築先修班,接著在維吉尼亞理工大學讀建築系學士。畢業後在美國的建築師事務所正式工作了一年。之前在就學期間,寒暑假空閒時間也有許多家教和實習經驗。今年初申請上了雪梨大學,半年後要去讀建築系碩士,希望在這個期間有緣帶幾位活潑、開朗、熱愛學習的學生提升英文能力。
教學經驗: 對於家教的經驗,我比較擅長教年齡大一點、有興趣學習、有英文底子的學生。對於年齡小的學生較無經驗(幼教)。之前教的對象包括 國、高中生,社會人士,以及在台灣進修碩、博士的學生。教的內容包刮托福、雅思、各級英檢、進階英語會話、寫作等等。相信我的學歷、開朗的個性、活潑的教學方式、以及正面的態度能提升學生英文程度以及帶給學生學習的樂趣!
