您好，我叫吳柏翰。
首先，我非常理解學習英文的困難，學習第二語言本來就是一件令人畏懼的事，尤其當我們自己的母語都還沒完全掌握。從小學開始，我就跟著許多不同的英文家教學習英文，很幸運一路上遇到許多願意幫助我持續進步的老師。
後來，我迎來了人生中最大的一個挑戰，我搬到加拿大生活並求學，總共待了八年。一開始，身處一個完全陌生的環境，突然必須把英文當作主要語言來使用，讓我感到非常不安，但我沒有選擇待在舒適圈裡。我主動和同學聊天、和當地人互動。雖然在過程中難免會有些不順的時候，但也正是這些經驗讓我不斷成長。
漸漸地，我開始明白學英文最重要的其實不是那些課本上教的東西（當然這些也很重要），而是溝通。語言的目的並不是要說得完美，而是要能清楚地表達自己、讓對方理解。如果我們無法好好溝通，那麼就算文法再正確、詞彙懂的再多，除了在考試上得分，在其他領域幫助也有限。
在這個全球化的時代，英文早已不只是學校裡的一門課，而是給予更多的機會。無論是在商業、旅遊還是國際合作上，能夠使用英文流暢地溝通，都是一項巨大的優勢。我自己就有這樣的親身經歷。有一次，我在南港展覽館的美食展中擔任一位美國出口商的實習翻譯，協助他們與台灣在地的食品公司溝通和合作。這段經驗讓我深刻體會到語言的力量，它能建立真實的人際關係、創造機會，甚至帶來國際間的合作與信任。
我相信現在的學生常常太過專注於考試和成績，而忘了語言學習的真正目的是建立連結。透過對話、勇於發問、願意犯錯，我們才能更自然、更有信心地使用英文。良好的溝通能力，不僅能強化語言能力，更能建立自信、信任與理解。
我希望自己能像曾經幫助我的老師們一樣，陪伴下一代不只是學好英文，更能愛上學習英文的過程還有實際應用於生活中。
Hello, my name is Ansel Wu.
First of all, I understand the struggle of learning English, it’s always a daunting idea to learn a second language, especially when we haven’t even fully mastered our native one at a young age. Since elementary school, I’ve had many different English tutors over the years, and I’m lucky to have had the right people guide me and help me improve my second language over time.
Later on, I took on my biggest challenge: moving to Canada, where I lived and studied for over eight years. At first, it was intimidating, living in a new environment and having to speak my second language as my primary one. But instead of staying in my comfort zone, I made the decision to push myself. I started conversations with classmates, chatted with locals, and made an effort to speak with as many people as I could. initially there were times where I didn't speak as fluently, but those mistakes helped me grow.
Over time, I realized that the most important part of learning English isn’t stuffs we learn on textbooks(though those are obviously essential), it’s communication. It’s not about speaking perfectly; it’s about being understood and expressing your thoughts clearly. If you can’t communicate, then knowing perfect grammar and spelling doesn’t mean much outside of a test.
In today’s globalized world, English is more than just a school subject, it’s a gateway to opportunity. Whether in business, travel, or international collaboration, being able to communicate in English gives you a huge advantage. I’ve experienced this firsthand. Once, I worked at a food expo at the Nangang Exhibition Center, helping a U.S. exporter as a temporary translator. My role was to support their communication with local Taiwanese food companies. That experience showed me how language can build real-world connections, open doors, and create meaningful partnerships.
I believe kids today are often so focused on grades that they forget the real goal of learning a language is about connection. By practicing real conversations, asking questions, and making mistakes along the way, we learn how to use English naturally and confidently. Communication builds not just language skills, but also trust, confidence, and understanding between people.
And I want to help the next generation the same way my tutors helped me, not just to learn English, but to love learning it and apply it in life.
