● Brief Introduction:
Since graduating from Murray State University, Kentucky, USA in 2010, I obtained two master's degrees: one in TESOL (Master of Arts) and one in Applied Engineering & Technology Management (Master of Science). I have enjoyed living in English since I studied there. Besides my education background, I believe I am someone who inspires and constantly inspires myself. Physically and mentally, I set a good example to students when teaching or interacting with them.
● Teaching Experience:
I taught English in more than five global English institutions and have tutored for four different families since 2018. There is a wide range of ages and levels of students I taught and have taught, from beginners to advanced intermediates. My role as a dynamic and responsible English teacher has been gratifying.
● Teaching Style:
When it comes to environmental English learning materials, I like to encourage students to discuss and go into detail about their interests. It is important to learn languages from life with pleasure, especially in learning English in Taiwan; there is too much pressure on local students during their English learning periods. In order to prevent this, I have set three goals in my class; first, we want the children to think learning English is fun, second, we want them to use English at home with their parents, and finally, we want them to be able to use English in everyday life, and to do so with confidence.
For the younger students, I will use funny body language to get them to repeat and then guide. For the older ones, I will look at their learning backgrounds and needs from school English, and then adjust accordingly. I am always motivated and energetic during class.
● What I want to say to the students...:
As a person who was born and raised in Taiwan, I can certainly say that learning English here is never straightforward.
Due to the entrance examination, students are generally urged to learn grammar, reading, and listening after they enter middle school. Unfortunately, the most essential tools of using English, the communicative skills, which students were taught before entering junior high school have been forgotten by lack of practice.
In spite of this, I urge you to stay positive and joyful as you learn English. “Practice makes perfect.
