Hello my name is Christopher Chin. Learning English was something I didn’t expect quite much when I was a kid. At the time I had no foreign friends around to talk to on a daily basis so I didn’t see why it was a useful skill to have. It wasn’t until I started listening to music in English that I started to have such enormous interest for learning the language. Digital media was very important in my journey to absorbing English. I learned a lot from watching TV shows, translating song lyrics and watching videos on youtube. This helped me to improve not only my listening skills but my pronunciation skills as well. Fast forward to the present after looking back, it’s truly impressive to recognize how English has opened so many doors for me. It’s given me many academic opportunities I wouldn’t have had before and allowed me to make friends from all around the world. I want to encourage, share my experiences, and inspire students who wish to expand their knowledge and horizons the way I’ve been able to so far — all thanks to English.
