Greetings, I am Wen-chieh Chi. With the score of 97 on TOFLE and 915 on TOIEC, I went to America to study. During my stay, I have also worked at the local theaters and film productions. While working on film, I have also helped script writers and directors on translating Chinese to English or the other way around. This was the trigger that made me thought of doing translations.
Besides the fact of studying abroad in US, my childhood of moving back and forth from Taiwan to America acted as the base of my English and cultural understanding. Therefore, I have been like the interpreter among my friends and family. Nonetheless, knowing that this advantage requires effort, especially after I settled in Taiwan, I would always seek out ways to incorporate English in my daily life in order to maintain. With both Western and Eastern culture as my background, I believe I would be able to learn quickly and meet the requirements for translating.
